Getting Started
Class Wizard is a mobile classroom management application designed specifically for teachers, tutors, and classroom administrators. It helps you manage multiple classes, track student attendance, assign and monitor homework, and organize student information all in one place. The app works on both iOS and Android devices and features offline-first functionality so you can work without an internet connection.
Step 1: Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Step 2: Sign in using your Google or Apple account for secure authentication
Step 3: Create your first class by tapping the "+" button on the Dashboard
Step 4: Add students to your class from the Students tab
Step 5: Start taking attendance and creating homework assignments
Creating a class is simple:
- Open the app and navigate to the Classes section from the Dashboard
- Tap the '+' or 'Add Class' button
- Enter the class name (e.g., "Math 101", "English 9A")
- Optionally add a subject, color code, and schedule information
- Tap 'Save'
Your new class will appear on your Dashboard and in the Classes list.
Absolutely! Class Wizard is designed to handle multiple classes efficiently. You can create as many classes as you need, each with its own students, schedule, attendance records, and homework assignments. Switch between classes easily from the Dashboard or Classes screen. Each class can have different color coding for quick visual identification.
Your daily schedule is visible on the Dashboard (home screen). The Dashboard shows:
- Today's classes with their schedules
- Upcoming homework assignments with due dates
- Pending attendance that needs to be taken
- Quick action buttons for common tasks
You can customize which information appears on your Dashboard in the Settings.
AI Teaching Assistant
The AI Teaching Assistant is Class Wizard's exclusive Pro feature that analyzes your classroom data and provides instant insights. Ask questions in natural language and get detailed reports on attendance trends, homework completion rates, student performance, and weekly summaries. The AI can query your actual data (classes, students, attendance, homework) to give you accurate, personalized insights that help you make informed teaching decisions.
The AI Assistant is available exclusively for Pro subscribers:
- Upgrade to Pro from the Profile/Settings screen
- Look for the AI Assistant option in your Dashboard or navigation menu
- Tap to start a new conversation with the AI
- Type your question or tap one of the suggestion cards to get started
The AI can help you with:
- Attendance Analysis: "Which students have missed the most classes this month?"
- Homework Reports: "Show me homework completion rates for my Math class"
- Grade Statistics: "What's the average grade across all my classes?"
- Weekly Summaries: "Give me a summary of this week's classroom activity"
- Student Performance: "How is John doing in homework submissions?"
- Trend Identification: "Are there any patterns in late arrivals?"
Yes! All your AI conversations are automatically saved locally on your device. You can:
- View conversation history from the AI screen
- Load previous conversations to continue where you left off
- Delete individual conversations you no longer need
- Start new conversations at any time
Note: AI conversations are stored only on your device and are NOT synced to the cloud or other devices.
Pro subscribers get 1,000,000 tokens per month for AI conversations. Tokens are used for both your questions and the AI's responses. Most typical questions use only a few thousand tokens, so this limit is generous for regular use. Your token usage resets on the first day of each month. You can monitor your usage directly in the AI Assistant screen.
Attendance Tracking
Taking attendance is quick and easy:
- Go to the Dashboard and tap 'Take Attendance' for today's class
- You'll see your student list with status options
- Tap each student to mark them as Present, Absent, Sick, Late, or Excused
- Use 'Mark All Present' or 'Mark All Absent' for quick entry
- Attendance is automatically saved as you make changes
Class Wizard provides 5 attendance statuses:
- Present - Student attended class
- Absent - Student did not attend
- Sick - Student absent due to illness
- Late - Student arrived late to class
- Excused - Excused absence (e.g., school event, appointment)
Yes! You can view and edit attendance for any past or future date. Use the date selector in the attendance screen to navigate to different dates. Any changes you make will be automatically saved and synced to the cloud if you're a Pro subscriber.
To view attendance history for a specific student, go to your class's Students tab, tap on the student's profile, and select the "Attendance" tab. You'll see all attendance records with dates and statuses for that student.
Homework Management
To create homework:
- Select your class and go to the 'Homework' section
- Tap 'Add Homework' or the '+' button
- Enter the assignment title and optional description
- Select a due date using the date picker
- Tap 'Save'
The homework will be automatically assigned to all students in that class.
Class Wizard supports two grading systems:
- Numeric (0-100): Percentage-based grading (e.g., 85%, 92%)
- Letter (A-F): Traditional letter grades (A+, A, A-, B+, B, etc.)
You can switch between grading systems anytime in Settings → Grading System. All existing grades will automatically convert to the new format.
To track homework:
- Go to the Homework section and select an assignment
- Switch to the 'Students' tab to see submission statuses
- Tap a student to mark their homework as submitted and add a grade
- Enter grades according to your chosen grading system
- Optionally add notes or comments for each student
The 'Details' tab automatically shows completion percentage, average grade, and grading progress as you update submissions.
Each student's homework can have one of these statuses:
- Not Reviewed - Initial state, awaiting review
- Submitted - Student submitted on time
- Late - Submitted after the due date
- Not Submitted - Confirmed not submitted
- Excused - Student excused from this assignment
Yes! Once homework is complete, you can archive it to keep your active homework list clean. Archived homework can be viewed by filtering for archived assignments. You can also permanently delete homework with a confirmation prompt. The app will suggest archiving homework when it's 100% complete and graded.
Student Management
To add students:
- Select your class from the Dashboard or Classes list
- Navigate to the 'Students' tab
- Tap the '+' or 'Add Student' button
- Enter the student's name (required)
- Optionally add: School ID, Email, Phone Number, and Birthdate
- Tap 'Save'
To view student details:
- Go to your class and select the 'Students' tab
- Tap on any student to open their profile
- Use the three tabs to view different information:
- Info: Contact details, ID, birthdate
- Attendance: Complete attendance history with dates and statuses
- Homework: All assignments with submission status and grades
Yes! You can add unlimited notes for each student. From the student's profile, look for the notes section where you can add observations, important information, or reminders about individual students. Notes include timestamps and can be edited or deleted at any time.
For each student, you can store:
- Basic Info: Name, School ID, Email, Phone, Birthdate
- Attendance Records: Complete history across all dates
- Homework Performance: All assignments with grades and submission status
- Notes: Unlimited text notes with timestamps
Appearance & Settings
To change the app theme:
- Go to Settings from your profile or navigation menu
- Find the 'Theme' section
- Choose from three options:
- System - Follow your device's theme (default)
- Light - Always use light theme
- Dark - Always use dark theme
The theme changes instantly without needing to restart the app.
Yes! Go to Settings → Grading System and choose between Numeric (0-100) percentage grades or Letter (A-F) grades. When you switch systems, all existing grades automatically convert to the new format. This setting applies to all grade displays throughout the app.
In the Settings screen, you can:
- Change app theme (System/Light/Dark)
- Set grading system preference (Numeric/Letter)
- Send feedback to the development team
- View app version information
- Manage your subscription status
Technical & Privacy
Yes! Class Wizard features offline-first functionality. All your data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database, so you can take attendance, create homework, manage students, and access all features without an internet connection. When you reconnect to the internet (and if you're a Pro subscriber), your changes will automatically sync to the cloud.
Cloud sync is a Pro feature. Pro subscribers get automatic bidirectional syncing:
- Sign in with the same account (Google or Apple) on all your devices
- Your data automatically syncs when connected to the internet
- The Dashboard shows sync status with pending changes counter
- You can manually trigger a sync from the Dashboard sync button
Note: Free users can download data from the cloud but cannot upload changes.
Yes, your data security and privacy are our top priorities:
- Encrypted storage: All local data is encrypted on your device
- Encrypted transmission: Data in transit uses industry-standard encryption
- Secure authentication: Google/Apple OAuth for sign-in
- No third-party sharing: We never share your student data with third parties
- FERPA/COPPA compliant: Meets educational privacy requirements

Class Wizard is available on both iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android devices. Download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app provides a consistent experience across both platforms.
To permanently delete your account:
- Go to your Profile/Settings screen
- Find and tap 'Delete Account'
- Review the warning about data that will be deleted
- Confirm deletion twice (this is permanent and cannot be undone)
This will permanently delete all your classes, students, attendance records, homework, settings, and cloud backup data. You can also contact support@classwizard.app for assistance.
Subscription & Pricing
Yes! Class Wizard offers a generous free tier with core classroom management features. Free users can:
- Create up to 3 classes
- Add unlimited students per class
- Track unlimited attendance records
- Manage unlimited homework assignments
- Use the complete grading system
- Add student notes
- Customize theme and settings
Pro subscribers unlock these premium features:
- Unlimited Classes - Create as many classes as you need
- Cloud Sync - Automatic backup and sync across all your devices
- AI Teaching Assistant - Get instant insights and analytics with 1,000,000 tokens/month
To upgrade to Pro:
- Open the app and go to your Profile screen
- Tap 'Upgrade to Pro' or look for upgrade prompts when accessing Pro features
- Choose between monthly or yearly subscription (yearly plans show savings)
- Complete the purchase through the App Store or Google Play
Download the app to see current pricing for your region.
Pro subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). To cancel, go to your device's subscription settings. On iOS: Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions. You can also restore purchases from within the app if you've subscribed on another device.
Troubleshooting
If cloud sync isn't working:
- Verify you have an active Pro subscription
- Check your internet connection
- Try manually triggering sync from the Dashboard sync button
- Sign out and sign back in to refresh your connection
- Ensure you're using the same account (Google/Apple) on all devices
If issues persist, contact support@classwizard.app with details.
If you uninstall Class Wizard:
- Pro users: Your data is safe in the cloud. Simply reinstall and sign in to restore everything.
- Free users: Local data will be deleted. Make sure to upgrade to Pro for cloud backup before uninstalling.
AI conversation history is stored locally only and will be lost if you uninstall.
For AI Assistant issues:
- Verify you have an active Pro subscription
- Check your internet connection (AI requires internet)
- Ensure you haven't reached your monthly token limit
- Try starting a new conversation if one is stuck
- Check if there are any app updates available
